Distillation vs maceration. Distillery vs brewery.

Probably not using wormwood when making the absinthe, so just another alcohol.

@Larry
It clearly says in the article he is using wormwood!

Yamogi is what the Japanese call the most used variety of wormwood.
It must be processed carefully to remove chemicals that cause harm to the body.
Its very effective at removing parasites and parasites eggs but not reccomended for every day use.
There's many species in the artemesia genus of the common name wormwood.
It has bin proven to be damaging to the hippocampus area of the brain .
To use yomogi or wormwood internally temporarily once every 3 months or twice a year is very beneficial.
The flowering tops are traditionally dried and used in smoking mixtures of native Americans and moxibustion sticks used in traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture or Japanese kanpo.
Traditionally used for malaria as tea.
I enjoy yomogi mochi about twice a year.

Japanese Yomogi is Artemisia vulgaris indica whereas the wormwood used to make absinthe, is, surprisingly enough, Artemisia absinthium. Different plant.
Incidentally, the fibers from yomogi are also used to hold the red ink (Shuniku) for use with hanko.

Is anyone else tired of the use of the word CRAFT?
Please find a new word and quit copying American poor English word usage.

Absinthe Drip

Think carefully the effect is mind mumming.
Have a Vodka Martine, a quality Gin and Tonic.
At least you will be able to make your way to the taxi
albaleo
Presumably with quinine in the tonic. Is that still banned in Japan?

There’s a reason for the three letters s,i,n, to be part of the word absinthe. But of course that also means, it’s delicious and you’ll love it. lol

albaleo, I plum for Pokka Sapporo diet Tonic Water.
After the first glass of absinthe you see things as you wish they were. After the second you see them as they are not. Finally you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world.

If I had to choose I would go for a absinthe cocktail....

I tried absinthe and have a bottle. One small drink was enough to make me think the rumors are true.

Hello
Your absolutely correct yes.
That's interesting fact about yomogi being used as a mordant for the red ink used with hanko.
Thanks for sharing.
Ah the wonderful and interesting world of ethnobotany.
Have a nice day.
