Makes sense. Operating out of Japan they may be able to avoid US sanctions and Xi's crackdown.

Leveraging familial, social and financial connections in Greater China, including Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand etc., as well as the diaspora in the US,Canada, the UK and Australia has been one of the greatest strengths of Chinese economic success.
You could almost call it an unfair advantage.

Good, cooperation between China and Japan...
Without western piracy..

Now Japan will be like other countries.

ALL of those startups with any Chinese ownership connections will be obliged to spy for China under its 2017 espionage law. Good for Japan? Good for Japan to be careful!

And only the CCP will reap the benefits.

Will it still be considered spying or espionage when they ultimately steal the info, data, etc. and send it back to the CCP?

Oh the irony.

This is the new model that that China uses to spy and steal intellectual property. It also means that can find more sophisticated ways to get around sanctions. All under the noses of the ignorant Japanese government!

Japanese businesses would do well to steer clear of ‘entrepreneurs’ beholden to a dictatorial amoral government.

And another article on here mentions how Chinese citizens view Japan as least trustworthy and whatnot.

So I suppose Japan is 'bad' in the eyes of Chinese citizens, yet not so bad that many of them visit Japan to purchase Japanese goods, and many others seek to live and work there. Go figure

This is good news. Japan needs more Chinese entrepreneurs. China has so much to teach Japan.

Chinese start ups.
Small and inconsequential now.
Wait a while then look up later. You will find it all China owned.
Japanese workers out of work.
Japan should do all they can to be China's biggest competitor on all platforms of industry and business' from tech. From agriculture and in to medical. Any many more. Do not even creek open the door of opportunity Japan.

Savy mind for business. Hope a few of the J locals looking for a cushy but sleepy career in a government job or a big company take note. Always good to see some drive and ambition looks like. Instead of complain you have a run at it.
The spirit of Entrepreneurship hasn’t exactly taken off here though yet, despite the open economy and money flying about.
