One is left to ponder why SBUX shareholders haven't yet called the company on the - what simply must be humongous - legal costs by now, fighting all of this. Going on the offensive and doubling-down against a growing nationwide wave of unionizations at their stores (combined with some key decisions by the NLRB running against them), just to keep labor costs down, seems to be like keeping rising ocean waves back from your beachhouse by using cotton balls; it may work for awhile, but you still are likely to end up with an ugly mess at the end.
