Ferragamo lowers prices in Japan

The Japanese importer of Salvatore Ferragamo-brand luxury fashion goods on Tuesday lowered the prices of 42 items, including bags and shoes, by 7-10% on average. The Italian brand's first-ever markdown in the world is designed to drive demand in its second largest market following the United States.

Ferragamo Japan KK lowered the price of a women's tote bag to 75,000 yen from 85,000 yen and that of men's shoes to 74,000 yen from 82,000 yen. Among other overseas luxury brands, the Japanese importer of France's Louis Vuitton goods raised prices for some products by 1.5% on average last month due to higher material prices and the euro's appreciation.
