Does anyone remember when Ford made full sized commercial over the road trucks? Not just pick ups but tractors for tractor trailer rigs. And they used to be made in Louisville. Ford walked away from that business, surrendering that market to Freightliner (owned by Mercedes Benz), Volvo and Mack (owned by Renault) who offered better made, more modern and more comfortable commercial trucks. Freightliner even bought out a Ford truck plant, renamed the former Ford truck as a Sterling and then greatly improved it before they decided to kill the Sterling brand.
