American apparel chain Gap on Thursday opened a four-level flagship store in Ginza. The new store is Gap Japan’s largest.
Gap has launched an aggressive worldwide expansion campaign with store openings in Milan and China over the last year, targeting the world’s hottest fashion cities. Ginza, which has long been compared to Paris’ Champs d'Elysees, is one of the most popular fashion streets in Asia, attracting thousands of tourists from all over Asia yearly.
The Ginza store has a floor for everyone: women’s, men’s and children’s collections fill the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors respectively, whereas the first floor strategically displays Gap’s newest and limited-season products.
Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, who recently did a denim collaboration with the company, will visit the store during the day.

One-stop shopping experience for singles, weekend family members offers four floors of youths, men, women, children and newest releases. Promotion campaign featuring popular singer is a good idea.

They lost their mojo years ago and have struggled to regain it since.

good luck taking on Uniclo. If I had to choose, even though uniclo fits like it was made for a anorexic alien child baby thing I still choose it over the gap.

whichever is cheaper, that is what I will pick. The fancy shmancy openings and buildings and crap dont mean much when I want to buy a shirt

It's Uniqlo, not uniclo.
Says you. It fits me way better than made-for-fatties stuff made back home. And the quality is far better too.

Wasn`t there something about Uniqlo buying Gap at one point? Banana Republic is cool too.
Might as well, because they sure copy each other LOL

paul -- spot on. Especially here in Japan, where they have a lot of what I'll call "western/American" styles and clothes. But everything is sized small or extra-small for the herbivores here. Sort of half-pregnant.

My favorite is GAP, their shirts are wonderful. Uniqlo is great too, a little bit sterile. My Japanese favorite one is Muji, despite everything being beige/gray (so you can mix with buidings, houses). H&M is another good one, but I wear S or SX, theirs look like I am wearing my father's clothes - way too big. You guys complaing about sizes, is it the stores or your pauch?

Im afraid you all would want to see New Yorks 5th Avenue also become Penny Lane too with nothing but Walmarts, dollar stores, H&M, Old Navy, Target, TJ Max LOL
Wow what a sad world we live in man

Isn't Omotesando the one compared to the Champs d'Elysees? Anyway I think Ginza is becoming more and more family-oriented while Omotesando is becoming more up-scale. Imo Gap is nice for the kids but for myself I mostly use Uniclo or H&M.

People who dont really have a lot of money go to a place like this..its so obvious! If you had the money, you could afford way better than Gap.
Simple really
