Gov't to start testing mileage of Mitsubishi Motors cars

Why can't we see any mileage comparison tests and data. They keep talking about how Mitsubishi falsefied mileages but we don't see the critearia for mileage testing. So what are the results ? Is it a difference of 2 kms a litre, 5 kms a litre ? What is it ?

What is the government criterea for testing ? Is it secret or something ?

The government will begin tests to measure the fuel economy of vehicles made by Mitsubishi Motors Corp next week WTF the government should be testing all new vehicles, the results of there test need to be used by automakers as there benchmarks. automakers using there own results for testing is just asking for trouble as we see now with Mitsubishi. its taken 25 years!! for anybody to catch on or in this case blow the whistle on there corruption, sadly this is the tip of the iceburg and will continue until the J gov comes down hard on these fools. when fines/punishments are less than the monetary gains by there deception theyll continue to do it. Although Mitsubishi shares have landed in the shtter as a result. no better way to pull a company in line when its shareholders are psed at losing on there investments

The Mitsubishi cars in question are not being accused of gross violations as has been the case of VW’s diesel cheating, but improprieties that may or may not have led to inaccuracies has been admitted by Mitsubishi.

I waited 25 long years for Mitsubishi to get caught again in it's own irresponsible game of cheating and conniving. I bought their brand new Mirage only to have it konk out on me over a dozen times. Short on temper and pretty stupid I admit but I junked the brand new car just 3 years after purchase. It was several years later that Mitsubishi admitted to hiding all complaints against the company and only admitted it because someone found the papers listing the complaints inside a locker. Ishi, the transportation minister seems fed up and said that Mitsubishi has lost public trust. I think that's an understatement.

The high speed coasting test was used to find the drag coefficient for said car. The fuel efficiency test is done on a dynometer (car does not move in space, only engine and wheels move).
