Vietnam isn't suffering. In fact, investors today are gaining new interest in emerging markets, with stocks from that region one of the hottest investment spaces right now. China and Europe are doing badly, but they are not the world.
As for these Japanese companies, they always complain. Right now, their profits are still close to the all-time record high set last year, but they still complain.

I want to add that many Southeast Asian nations do not capitalize much on the war as good as the Vietnamese. It was hinted that Vietnam is part of the incoming "Blue Belt" initiative, a counter against OBOR, hinted by Secretary Wilbur Ross in his last visit to Vietnam (a few weeks ago). There is something great going on there, and the US is actively behind it.

Do they really need a survey on this? I feel this is about as common sense as it gets. When the two biggest economies are fighting, any company that operates on a global scale will suffer. Also, the economies that are fighting suffer as well. This all trickles down.
