Less consumerism not more.

Better for people not to increase their debt levels during the pandemic and pandemic recovery. Many, due to the lack of cash, will spend debt instead. Americans have one of the highest rates of personal debt.

Japanese do not celebrate American Thanksgiving Day but why post this off-topic comment? No need to use Google for the origins of Black Friday. It is the birth child of consumerism.

The average American has $90,460 in debt. The average Japanese has $38,000 in debt.

As of 2020, average savings held by households comprising two or more people in Japan amounted to approximately Y17.9 million

As of 2021, Americans' average personal savings amounted to $73,100.
