Selling in China is great. But I think some of these larger companies should pull out and either move back to Japan or to another country that is a little more cooperative and appreciative.

That's a rather silly comment.

Manufacturing decisions are made on the basis of economics, including tariffs and cost of production and local preferences, and not as a reward for proper behavior.

If Honda, or other Japanese companies, wish to put pride above profits, that 's fine, as long as their shareholders agree.

Honda wants to double the number of models, just in case there's yet another anti Japan riot that destroys Japanese businesses and things like Japanese cars.

This way the extra inventory can weather the storm.

Hopefully, Honda or any other Japanese manufacturer can make a breakthrough, beating Hyundai in terms of sales in volume for year 2014. It will alleviate anger of many angry Japanese.

Honda doesn't need a "breakthrough." They sold 15 million cars last year. Hyundai and Kia combined sold 7.5 million cars.

After the last anti-Japan riots in China, many Chinese bought US cars. Japanese press reports that now Chinese are dumping lousy US cars and going back to Japanese cars no matter what.

Japan is selling soooooo many cars in China right now that it is almost embarrassing. despite the NEWS reports that Chinese hate Japanese cars, the reality is that Chinese people, when faced with spending their hard earned money on a vehicle will, oddly enough, want the BEST VALUE. That equals a Japanese car. Seriously, Japanese cars sales jump every month.

Please allow me to ask the stupid but obvious question ... but can't China product its own vehicles of an equivalent standard to the Japanese? And if not, why not?

If the quality of the 'use-once-then-throw-away' tools they export to the rest of the world is anything to go by ... I know what the answer is, and can guess why.

The amount of wasteful junk that nation produces then ships globally chasing overseas currency is a crime against the environment.

As a business owner, pride should be what it is always about. Profit will follow.

Your wrong. Honda sold total of 4 million cars in 2013. (3,250,000 million cars outside of Japan and 750,000 in Japan).

kickboard,

For year 2013 in China, Volkswagen topped the list and Hyundai took the second place, in terms of the number of cars sold. For the number of cars sold worldwide, Toyota is the only Japanese company that sells more cars than Hyundai.

Please do the research. I am just stating the facts. And don't be angry.

My bad, 15 million was the number for motorcycles. Honda sold 4.3 million in 2013, Hyundei sold 4.7 in 2013.
