For example, in Finland and in the United Kingdom, they are looking at a four-day work week.

Now THAT is a brilliant idea!

Yeah, what? I've never heard anything like this, is it part of the labor law?

In Japan, every Japanese citizen gets the right to take Monday mornings off, according to one self employed individual working from home in a company of one who waives this right as he can't afford to take time off and will probably move into a box under a bridge next financial year.

This is the very first time I have heard of this. Really?

As for the number of e-mails, there seem to be more people who prefer to send e-mails rather than talk in person with their co-workers. The sheer number of non-relevant e-mails CC-ed every day in my division is overwhelming. The worrying thing is that even when it is obvious that many people cannot and eventually don’t bother reading all the mails CC-ed to them and it is obvious that efficiency suffers, the mailers persist in avoiding face-to-face communication. And We sit just about 2 meters apart from one another!

Shining Monday: Come into work late as long as it does not negatively impact the company. It’s not a law, more of a suggestion from the Abe administration.

Premium Friday: Go home early on Friday as long as it does not negatively impact the company. Another suggestion that came before Shining Monday.

Apparently 11.2% of survey workers took Premium Friday last year. 96% of those workers also said they had to work extra hours towards the end of the month because going home early made them too busy during the remainder of the month.

Haha, yeah you have the right to be unemployed to with your Mondays off.

Good tips on working with others though.
