5G is almost everywhere in Japan including our seaside location.

Huawei has reported a nearly 70% decline in profit last year amid sanctions

Yes, and it's Huawei that started it. Nortel, Cisco, RIM (Blackberry), Xilink...all have been victims of copying, fakes, supply chain manipulation etc., I'm quietly thinking Messrs Huawei are probably still laughing all the way to the bank.

IMHO, sanctions should go much further before Messrs Huawei will truly suffer lasting damage. Note, they're still installing networks, laying cables etc. in all corners of the world.

@Yrral: 5G now very prevalent all over Japan including rural locations, with excellent speeds.

You are somewhat out of touch with goings on in Japan.

Can't compete? Go the sanctions route....

All part of the "cold" war the US is waging on the non vassal states. Huawei, Ukraine, Iran, Taiwan....all linked to US dominance.
