Very nice. Im suffering here without job and money. just received Yen 100,000. but they get Yen 100,000 + full sallary + another Yen 150.000 as a bonus. is not bonus depend on company profits and does JAL have profits in this year? truely this is a tax payers money. any way we all have to expect a huge price up of JAL tickets soon after this pandemic .

In my experience, JAL staff are some of the most dedicated and customer-oriented people in the world. I truly enjoyed their service and I feel they deserve the extended allowance.

I cannot imagine the pandemonium they ( esp the Customer Service Staff) have had to endure during the Wuhan-China virus outbreak and flights were being cancelled left, right & center.

Not to mention another pandemonium due to the sudden influx of passengers once travel restrictions were lifted.

JAL is not so much ‘giving’ everyone ¥150,000 as Reducing their bonus to ¥150,000. Big difference.

They are going to eye it. They did not say they are going to do it. They are going to eye it.

I think it's good of JAL to do this.

ABE gave ¥100,000 to everyone, did everyone need it, no, same here does everyone need it, no.

Means test, show your assets, bank statement, then decide, or those employees or people who are suffering just apply for help.

The measure is intended to boost the morale of employees, with the carrier eyeing halving their summer bonuses from year-earlier levels because of a tumble in revenue caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the sources said.

awww... Summer bonus halved. Poor babies. Still it could be worse. You could be ALTs or Eikaiwa teachers who not only have had their pays cut but NEVER receive bonuses.

Chairman Yoshiharu Ueki and President Yuji Akasaka will receive no bonuses, while other executives will have their bonuses cut by 70 percent, they said.

awww....poor poor chairman and execs.. my heart bleeds for your cut bonuses.

Giving away tax money to a private company?

Several weeks ago JAL got a chunk from the government that sent the stock price up 3%.

What incentive is there for JAL to cut costs, retire staff, improve management or reduce ticket prices?

If they are still receiving their salary while their workloads and duties have been drastically lightened, is this money necessary?

500 billion yen, which partly will be coming from taxpayers money no doubt, and then giving and extra bonus of 150,000 to practically all their employees.

Must be nice working for JAL!
