Everyone I know is tightening their belts.

Wages stagnant, gas is high cost of living keeps going up.

LDP keep doing nothing.

The uselessness just never ends here !!

What's the difference, here in Japan, 720 ml is the new 1,000 ml. How cosmopolitan!

some important informations are missing.

container freight costs are priced over roof.

say example 40ft HQ for Karachi was 900usd year ago now 7000usd.

dont need to mention that is very difficult to even book one.

many empty containers are staying unused in USA and these are missing on market as freight companies enjoying all time high profits...

And because consumer prices hasn't been increasing that much in Japan, something has to give. Expect wages to shrink. So people will spend less and less, and the economy goes into a downward spiral yet again.

We can thank the Biden and the Trudeau administrations for high shipping costs from abroad.

Fuel that once flowed freely is now highly regulated and/or pipelines cut.

Unconstitutional mandates on truckers, in USA/Canada a main supply chain, has trucks sitting empty, truckers idle.

Shipping crates sit on ships in harbors, unable to dock at port, for lack of trucks and workers due to regulations and mandates.

Inflation has been present in Japan, with stagnant wages, increasing fuel prices, consumption taxes and “shrinkflation”- Everyone has been made aware they work harder, for less money, that buys less, and is taxed more.

But fear not, Kishida indulges the UN with donations (of your taxes) to go to other countries more in need than you, and pays exorbitant fees to pharmaceutical companies for vaccines for kids, so don’t worry be happy, Japan.

I wrote about the poverty that a generation had not seen many months ago on this forum and there was disagreement.

Now the truth is coming out in the media.

Of course, with the governments around the world cutting freedoms and slowing up businesses trying to achieve zero Covid infections then the situation is being made far worse.

Omicron has been known not to be a massive threat in other countries but it is very transmissible.

The Japanese are months behind relaxing restrictions as they refuse to analyse data from other countries.

Where the UK is ending restrictions, Japan is ramping them up.

I am no longer surprised by pointless decisions in Japan anymore…

there was never a piple between Canada USA it hasnt even been built yet.

thats not even remotely true, vast majority of containers coming in to CA are sent out by rail

If Japan encouraged it's motorists to use electric cars, and generated the electric power via solar, wind, tidal and geothermic it could massively reduce its reliance on imported oil.

Fools! You just provoked the Nihonjinron nationalists to this forum.

They will crucify anyone who criticizes their LDP God-Shogun, Shinzo Abe.

Japan and it’s government are lacking of visions.

Yeah, you mean the same ones that are robbed as they try to pass?

I'm speaking of the east coast, Canada to Fla.

Truckers are a big part of the supply chain,

and they are now sidelined by vorder restrictions and a mandate.

A lot of the major troubles occurring now are made by

government regulations and mandates,

and it will become pressing as more shortages/ empty shelves occur.

there was never a piple between Canada USA it hasnt even been built yet.

It's called the Keystone Pipeline, put out of commission by an executive order signature,

by the resident in chief.

Look it up on your Funk & Wagnals:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_Pipeline

On January 20, 2021, United States President Joe Biden revoked the permit for the pipeline on his first day in office

I hope to see the value of the yen increase again - a strong currency is a good thing, and in a normal economy the productive part of the economy would move into production of higher value goods and services with a stronger currency. Japan’s economy isn’t so relatively dynamic these days though, and hasn’t been since the 80’s or thereabouts. Neoliberal reforms in other places moved then ahead of Japan, while Japan had a bubble then failed to make various changes to get the place pumping again.

No country ever went down the tubes because its currency was too strong and solid.
