If ANA collapses for the first time, Japan will have to bailout a second airliner after JAL.

Tough times for the airline industry, but domestic travel within Japan will rebound quite soon. In fact it will be a great time to travel around Japan, seeing sites that are less crowded without all the visitors from overseas.

Very tough times - but agree on the domestic travel. I don't think ANA will collapse, I think they have secured enough line of credit for the foreseeable future. They are an exceptionally well run company, unlike JAL had been when they did collapse under less worse circumstances. They also have a decent cargo business. I wouldn't be so sure about their LCC subs - But I think that will be industry wide.

Well, they DID make a good profit

Domestic travel should pick up by June , so if they survive till then it should be fine.
It’s the smaller regional airlines and hotel chains that are struggling to survive. 2 local chains declared bankruptcy last week, more will follow soon.
Its a bad bad time for the travel industry.

ANA net profit plunges 75%
Let's extend the emergency and bankrupt the airlines.

Why would you wish for that Serrano? Do you wish for all of us to stop traveling full stop?

Me: Let's extend the emergency and bankrupt the airlines.

I'm not wishing for it. I was being sarcastic. I want businesses to be reopened and people to travel taking precautions and following safety guidelines as much as possible. There are going to be more coronavirus deaths. This is a sad fact. But to keep the emergency measures in place and cause businesses to go into bankruptcy will cause a great depression which will make the coronavirus look like a picnic.
