Time for a new TV drama series about pilots, flight attendants, ground crew, ATC, and the rest of the personnel who are involved with aviation. Promote the lifestyle, not the job. Always good for recruiting.

if International flights use English as the common language maybe japan should consider this on domestic routes too. Then they can hire more qualified foreigners.

Australia just allowed the recruitment of Foreign Pilots to fill shortages so if Japan is now having similar issues then the Airlines worldwide haven't done enough to train new Pilots

I would assume it's a more fulfilling and interesting job/lifestyle than being an office-bound salaryman.
Other than astronaut and perhaps fireman, I can't imagine a career more desired by elementary school-aged children.
