So will they be paying back any money the tax payers gave them? Lowering their prices for the public?

Great news!

So the company makes a nice profit. Will the pensions that had been cut before also see a raise?

That dream-liner is beautiful... Can't wait to board one!

Don't worry in 12 months they will need another government bail out. Do they have to pay the government back for the last one?

Not only they owe to the taxpayers but also to their own employees! Overwork and poor management is still predominant (inside information). And if you think of it why in the time everyone struggles the 2 monopolies have record profits? Unreasonably high prices and cheating with the fuel surcharge I guess - just my 2 c.

Japan Inc. is in a downward spiral , and where did they find the guy who managed fix a part of it? The pre-war generation.

And thanks to the fuel surcharge!

Not paying anyone overtime and cutting staff.

Wow! Great news! Congratulations to all employees of JAL.
Now I am more convinced this new management of JAL is turning the sinking tanker to change the course. Good luck to all of JAL employees. The job well done!

they lose 10 times of that next year or the year after then ask government help again.

This is good news, if it's true. A part of me is skeptical since reading about the spate of creative accounting practices conducted by other companies.

Good for them. Have always enjoyed flying JAL. Compared to some of their European colleagues they rock. Good service, good food and nice, clean airplanes.

No wonder their profits have increased they charge like wounded bulls for their flights. I refuse to fly with them on principle they charge way more than other airlines flying the same route.

I flew them just the other day as they offered the cheapest business class option going on the intl route I was flying. No wonder they have saved money. The seats were exactly the same ones I flew when I was last on their planes 10 years ago. It was horrible - so outdated, dirty and just had an incredibly dingy feel to the whole thing. They might have posted a profit now but they are going to have to start offering a competitive product if they are going to start earning the all important repeat customers.
