LOL. Now throwing good money after bad to try to chase a turn-around at Sharp is considered "innovation". Scary just how far Japan Inc. has fallen.

Japan should just nationalise the whole economy and get it over with.

Keep Sharp Japanese.

If public money will be used to prop up Sharp, will the same managers who dragged the company down be allowed to keep their positions? If so, can the government seriously believe Sharp could recover? There must be a lot of young talent there, promote them and pension the old managers off.

I knew one of the directors of an electrical component manufacturer who supplied/s Sharp. After Lehman went down, Sharp went into steep decline. As a result, the whole supplier company was restructured and hundreds of people lost their jobs.
Sharp may be a turkey, but don't forget that there are dozens of supply companies who depend on Sharp for business. I know that for several years this particular supplier company tried to diversify its business, but nevertheless couldn't completely sever itself from the Sharp teat.

Another zombie company kept going with free cash. Stupid policy.

****A Japanese government-backed fund is considering a range of options to help turn around Sharp Corp including a direct investment, a person familiar with the matter said.
****A direct investment would mark a shift in thinking at the Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ), which previously only wanted to be involved in Sharp’s liquid crystal display business.
That is a good strategy to give a hand a domestic company in a tough business. That would can help enhance Japanese economy. But we should consider which company has the key role to recover Japanese economy in my opinion, the company doesnt deserve to get any help
****Once among the top display suppliers to Apple Inc, Sharp has been pushed aside by the likes of LG Display and Japan Display as the U.S. device maker diversified its supply chain amid longstanding concerns over Sharp’s prospects.
Many demand company have casted doubt on the company to get efficient supply.

As an afterthought, I don't actually know why other Japanese electonics manufacturers don't squawk about Sharp being kept afloat with public money as it puts them in a pinch, too.

i have been thinking how the company can recover from the dreary economy.
