Japan has no one to blame but themselves. Just who are the victims here? We, the consumers.

This type of thing happens the world over. Japan is not unique. It's just that we don't expect this kind of thing in Japan.

The point is that if Japan joins TPP, no one will buy Japanese products. It will just be a huge sucking out of the Japanese economy to other countries.

Japan needs to take a lesson from the Ukraine and BUY more foodstuff TESTING machines HAVE them in EVERY school. SHOW the INTERNATIONAL Community that J Govt is taking the Nuclear Accident more Serious than they are showing at present. Purchase MORE internal Radiation Checking Machines that anyone in Japan may make an appointment to use for free mind you. The Ukraine I would buy from way before Japan because they actually look like they give 2 cent about reality.

I always think japan's strength is in robotic or engineering and not natural sciences. The IPS nobel prize is some rare achievement in biological research.

I'd change the title to "Japan food scandal paves the way for great future food export". It's painful now but after 2~3 years (the exposure--scandals--will go on for a while as, I believe, it is sanctioned by Abe government) and after some new legislation and some government actions Japan will be able to tell the world that Japan food is now 100% pure and safe.
