The BOJ wants to see demand-driven inflation of two percent, fueled by wage increases.

Wage increases haven't fueled anything in Japan in over 30 years, so either the BOJ is lying about what it wants to see or its policies are classic endless repetition of the same experiment and expecting to see different results.

The average salary of Japanese people has not increased since 1980, but if people can only earn a salary that cannot keep up with the rapid inflation like in the United States, then no matter how much their salaries increase, their lives will only become more difficult.

People who say that wages should be increased by law say incomprehensible things like raising the average hourly wage. If the average hourly wage increases, the hourly wage of part-time workers will increase, but it will not result in an increase in the salaries of company employees.

It would be much more effective to raise corporate taxes and lower income taxes.

For the whiners..

While the United States and other major economies have battled sky-high inflation in recent years, price rises in Japan have been less extreme

If it costs more to transport goods then prices rise.

and the price of regular gas today,I saw on a gas station board was ¥178 for regular and ¥181, the diesel price was ¥156.

We’ll have to ask p.m. Kishida for the price of aviation fuel per litre as I’m not au fait with that at the moment…

What Japan needs is wage push inflation but the spineless LDP won’t upset Keidanren by changing the laws.

What a conspiracy right in front of our eyes!

What salary increase? You call plus 5000¥/month (30$) salary increase??

You know what's worst? Local people actually feeling happy about this, even if their salary devalued 65% since 2019...
