It's sensible to try to avoid or minimise China risks by diversifying trade partners.

rest of the world , especially U.S needs to do this also. They need to spread their outsourcing from China to rest of Asia, South America and Eastern Europe and minimize risk and all that associated with dealing with China.

Shinzo Abe promised jobs will come back to Japan?

ASEAN doesn't like China either, not even Singapore - which is Chinese ethnic majority - likes China, ASEAN maybe small compare to China, but a rich ASEAN is a balancing force in the region, an advantage in global politics and economy.

Rare earth metal processing, 100% electronic soft etc., and everything to do with medicine should be brought back home.

Outsourcing from one country to another? Make more Japanese work instead of receiving benefits. Move the jobs back here.

It's plainly obvious that some don't grasp the whole concept of outsourcing.
China's hourly rate (latest available figures) equates to 24 Yuan, i.e. $3.39. You do the math in Yen.
In other words, you'll work for 60 full minutes in order to be paid $3.39. Minus all kinds of work and environmental protections that would make my dog refuse to do anything other than lick his own b**ls all day long.
Moving those jobs to Japan means that the Japanese shall have to work for an equivalent or even lesser pay. Otherwise, it won't make sense from an economic perspective.
Firms are economic enterprises in pursuit of profit, not charities.
I agree on one thing though; Japanese firms should repatriate their enterprises from China.
Bring them back to Japan; then make all the JT immigrant gaijin work for $3.39 hour.
If they moan, then less than that.

It's encouraging the government is recognizing the weakness in depending only on China. People forget that the hungry bear with the insatiable appetite will stop at nothing to overwhelm and subsume it's neighbors. The world is recognizing China's duplicity in international relations. Africa, southeast Asia, Australia, the middle east are waking up and are refusing to be bullied.
