I wish this organisation and others like it would just go away and not bother us anymore.
It make my blood boil to think that their business model focuses on how they can replace their "clients" who die from awful smoking related deceases.
...with our children.

may they fail miserably and go out of business.

What this is, is an outright admission by Japn Tobacco that their bread & butter product - cigarettes - are a high risk to human health because of the inherent harmful chemicals.
Now they are admiting such, time to close them down.

Good to hear these tobacco companies are making efforts to replace the old unhealthy cigarettes with new non-burn less unhealthy options. If these really are up to 95% healthier, then I don't see any issue with them whatsoever
browny1
dcog - where'd you pluck that 95% figure from?
dcog9065
@browny1: That figure is direct from the UK government's study:

It also states that:
Which explains most peoples' kneejerk reactions against these far healthier smoking alternatives. Opposition to e-cigarettes, etc. is not based on reality or science

dcog - thanks for that.
More recent research doesn't always present such a rosy picture. The key point of debate is that there are no long term studies to date.
For example the following from the Journal of American Heart association offers a more lucid report imo.

Usually I couldn't give a stuff about votes up and down, but being downvoted on the presentation of an academic report giving extra info, suggests there must be some diehard(sic) smokers out there who are quivering for their next hit.
I guess.

Agree completely about how harmful cigarettes are. But once somebody's hooked, anything that potentially reduces the harm is surely a good thing. I don't smoke, but my boy's been sneaking the odd puff since he was about sixteen. He's twenty-three now and vapes regularly (three-four times a day), but I'd much prefer that to the evil weed.
Then again, he doesn't drink, so it's not all bad.... (the daughter takes care of the booze).

I suppose in 10-20 years we will find out how dangerous these new ways of poisoning yourself really are. Still, I'm sure that they won't be doing their users any good.

Maybe they are making them for the restaurant crowd?
