Actually, both political parties have been screwing the US workers for decades

Yes

at least Trump is trying to fix

Fix the game in his favor maybe. He's definitely not doing anything for the American worker, and never has.

Trump's been screwing the American worker for decades.

Actually, both political parties have been screwing the US workers for decades which is 1000 times worse, at least Trump is trying to fix, everyone else in Washington with the exception of Schumer think we shouldn’t pick on China.

US to maintain its economic dictatorship.

@rlperez@USCompany-free-email.for.you.com.au

I'm sure you haven't noticed this, so I'll do you a favour to bring it to your attention. US economic dictatorship has benefitted its allies enormously, on the other hand, those who side with communist, socialist block (Russia, China et al) are desperately poor, corrupt, and always on the verge of disaster.

Millions of those in South America, like Venezuelan are trying to reach USA, NOT China or Russia, why is that? Aren't tgey allies of Russia and China?

These companies should do as the people in HK are doing and protest. If the US is such a beacon of democracy it will listen.

It does.

It is the companies and their employees that will pay the price of a trade war, a war instigated by the US to maintain its economic dictatorship.

So what you’re saying the American consumer and worker should be screwed, Yeah, that sounds real smart.

Epson America Inc and Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC and Mitsubishi Chemical Corp have the right to dispute. Unfortunately, the image down to these companies is inevitable.

We need to know that the current price of a product using patented technology is not always the correct price. There is no denying that products that have not paid a patent royalty may increase in price in the future.

It is as simple as this:

Big corporates wants to pay as little as possible for anything in the cost chain, eg materials, wages, taxes, IP, ETC. They lobby for goverment support to access, the lowest of all these costs globally, yes including taxes.

BUT, they want to extract the highest prices for their products or services, also globally, so they lobby for government to support differential pricing in different markets, monopoly distribution deals, monopoly market boundaries, restricted access to cheaper alternatives, restricted access to alternative technology ETC.

People have had enough of this, Trump wants to tweak things just a little, ie they can have everything else, EXCEPT wages. Bring back jobs to USA and you can restrict access, have your monopoly etc., just bring back jobs. Obviuosly the big end of town is playing hardball.

Other governments of the world can continue on the current trajectory, or follow USA.

The best quote that I have seen about Trump's trade policies is this one, from Economics Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman;

"So if you're trying to make sense of what's happening on trade, you should start with the basic point that Trump has no idea what he's doing, that there isn't any coherent U.S. policy goal........One thing is certain, however: If we do get into a full-scale trade war, for whatever reason, it will be very hard to end it, and the world economy will never be the same."

New York Times, May 7, 2019

Second best quote about Trump, IMO, is this one from his former Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon;

"Trump will lose supporters when they discover he's just another non-billionaire scumbag."

The President is doing exactly what it's people voted for thier president to do. If you are a large company and want to sell your products in America, then hire some Americans.

Business groups, including ones in Japan, have spent decades embracing the Republican Party while giving the Democrats a markedly cooler reception. They're now reaping what they helped sow.

When container ships are full to capacity entering the US and empty going back, then obviously Chinese goods are in demand due to their low price.

Tariffs are the way to go!

Sony Interactive Entertainment said that in the hearing, it "will explain how the imposition of additional tariffs on video game consoles imported from China would harm American small businesses, consumers and innovation."

You don’t think Trump’s trade representatives have already done their due diligence?

the group said. "Tariffs are taxes paid directly by U.S. companies...not China."

Again, it would be hard to imagine they didn’t know this.
