As Toyota prepares to nearly halve production at Japanese factories, a regional governor said on Thursday he would offer 400 billion yen ($3.72 billion) in emergency loans for small and mid-size companies including Toyota's suppliers.

Why? Why use the people’s taxes? The Toyodas are rich? That much money I’d pocket change for them. Or split it 50/50.

Toyota made 2 trillion yen in profits in 2019 and now they want to bail them out with taxpayer money!?

I don't think he's talking about bailing out Toyota. Rather give financial help to medium/small supplier who works with Toyota.

Rather give financial help to medium/small supplier who works with Toyota.

Which in turn helps Toyota by keeping their suppliers out of the red.

As it's taxpayer money, I'd like to see it also extended to small/med biz that is not directly related to Toyota/Japan Inc. You know, out of fairness and all. Asking too much?
