Lawson Inc and Rakuten will offer a limited number of Rakuten Ichiba 2016 lucky bags at more than 11,400 Lawson stores nationwide. From January 1 through Jan 7, Lawson customers will be able to order these lucky bags that will contain gourmet food and sweets from popular Rakuten Ichiba online merchants.
This is the first in a series of new collaboration initiatives to be launched by the two companies, Rakuten said.
Three types of bags are offered containing sets of assorted products mainly selected from merchants, including some who have won Gourmet Grand Prizes and Sweets Grand Prix awards awarded by Rakuten Ichiba in the past.
The bags may be ordered through Loppi, a popular multimedia terminal installed at Lawson stores throughout Japan, and will be delivered to addresses designated by customers, starting Jan 8. It will allow customers, even for those who have no experience in online shopping, to easily purchase popular products from Rakuten Ichiba.
The two types of Gourmet Lucky Bags will contain 7 to 9 items ranging from eel "kabayaki," boiled gyoza (dumplings), and hamburger steaks from four merchants and are priced at 5,000 yen (tax inclusive) and 10,000 yen (tax inclusive) depending on number of items. A total of 1,000 bags of each will be available.
The Sweets Lucky Bags will contain 11 types of Japanese and Western sweet items from six merchants. A total of 2,500 lucky bags are available that will include sweet potatoes, cheesecake bars, and "zunda-mochi" ("edamame" rice cakes). The sweets lucky bags are available at 3,000 yen (tax inclusive).
In September this year, Lawson and Rakuten launched a convenience store pickup service allowing products ordered from Rakuten Ichiba to be picked up at Lawson stores. Moving forward, the two companies plan to provide more convenient products and services for customers, making use of online and offline stores.

You know why they are called "Lucky Bags" right? Because the stores are "lucky" that people fall for this scam, and the customers will be "Lucky" to get their money's worth.

I already commented on this on another thread when I demonstrated how a Lucky Bag costing 320,000 yen with 240,000 yen (or so) of worth wine bottle is not what we call a good deal and you just end scammed $1000 (or so).
