Seems like a good idea. If the US really wants to slow down the rise of China it needs to return its investments and manufacturing to its own soil. The US used to be the worlds factory but this moved to China for company profits. This had the effect of helping China grow economically to the point they have huge surplus's of cash to spend on their military and on domestic repression of its citizens to keep the communist party in charge and unchallenged in any way. The other side effect was a huge loss of jobs and manufacturing in America and it runs huge deficits.

Not seems like a good idea. It is a good idea to get the trade side of the relationship right before China gets too big and strong. Be better if all countries (EU etc) with unfair trade relationships with China stood up now. I believe if they did China would make a deal.
