Ok they obviously don't know or have a very bad financial reporting team. You don't ask the equity SALES people about capex, you ask the equity RESEARCH people or strategists.
If you've ever worked in a major bank before, you'll realize that the salespeople regurgitate what they hear from strategists, research, and traders to their clients, but have no idea what they're talking about. I've met several equity sales people who didn't even know what free cash flow or the three statements were.

Were they griping ten years or so when the majority of economies were tanking? I honestly don't know but would like to.
