Too late, too expensive, too many design changes, too many executive changes, too few interested airlines.
Time to cut losses...

Mitsubishi SpaceJet has a firm order of only 160 jets plus 120 options. Options are not commitments and can be not exercised by the airliners.
Mitsubishi SpaceJet program will likely end at 160 jets, ensuring that Mitsubishi will never recoup its $10 billion program cost. The current breakeven cost for SpaceJet is 1,000 units, and Mitsubishi will lose money not only on sales of 160 units, but supporting them as well.

Mitsubishi gets millions in our taxes, but fails to produce anything sellable. It's proven time and time again to be utterly useless. Now a space aircraft? What next? A robot to greet you? Ha ha.

I have to wonder why they just don't quit. Terrible business to be in. Mitsubishi must be bleeding money on this. Are they getting govt support to keep some kind of aircraft industry alive just in case they need to build warplanes in the future? Just doesn't make sense.

If China can't even become the third major commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world, Japan won't stand a chance.

Japan must surely have some Advertising Standards Laws which would prevent the mislabelling of Mitsubishi's product...
