"We take a serious view of this matter. We have been working to protect the health of our employees by managing their working hours,"

Yeah, obviously! I guess when you kill someone their health can no longer be harmed any more, so killing them from overwork is a kind of permanent "cure" to any future illnesses. I mean, that's the only possible explanation of how they can honestly claim to be taking care of health when people are dying from overwork and they are doing zero to stop that.

Shame on Mitsubishi!

Maybe the SDF should recruit direct from Mitsubishi. Probably better working conditions!

I like the part where the labor ministry admits that it’s been using faulty data.

The legislation included setting a legal cap on overtime, ensuring "equal pay for equal work" for regular and nonregular workers, and exempting skilled professional workers with high wages from working-hour regulations.

Legislation? Guideline is more like it. And, what is the penalty for working someone to death? Say you are sorry and make a hollow promise that it won't happen again. What a joke! They should be severely penalising these slave drivers and even putting them in jail for working someone to death. It could be considered man slaughter.

@BlackFlagCitizen - Good Lord, are we still dealing with this? C'mon Japan, you're like the problem child that never learns

They have just given approval to restart the 40 year old nuclear power plant, which is about ten kilometers from the Fukushima dai-ichi plant. I think that that confirms your statement.

The whole or hole government uses faulty data, industry also...so a few years of people so desperate to escape their pointless lives they kill themselves, do, does anybody care?

Its not the government responsibility, as long as corporations make money, a death here or there is of no matter. Really try it, kill yourselves due to work and see what the government does? They really don't care. Your family are responsible and have a lot of paper work to do. That's the care and concern the ministry of labour have.
