that Japan’s stimulus policies are aimed at boosting the domestic economy, which has been mired in stagnation since the 1990s

When ever has the government here lowered a tax after deciding to increase it? I know you said postpone, why not repeal it!

@Yubaru : my point is if institutional investors are given a grand feast of $1.3 tri why not to give little relief to ordinary people and waive/postpone tax hike, i know its a wishful thinking...but !

There's a clear disconnect between businesses and investors, who support Abenomics, and the vast majority of JT posters. I wonder who will end up being right?

Just wait and see. Stock market investors and money traders play just as much on emotions than actual economics sometimes, and the euphoria is pervasive. Wait, the hangover will come.

Abe's goal is the upcoming elections, and everything he can do to make it seem like things are looking better makes it easier for the LDP to win.

If that happens, wait for the "other" shoe to drop.

Does Japan actually do stimulus? If they do then why is there so little inflation in Japan.
