That place sure had a lot of history.

Use coal can be shifted to China so to get environmental friendly.

Furnaces are the the top facilities regarding use of coal and thus CO2 emissions.

Good move.

Blast furnaces use coke, not coal.

De-industrialization of Japan is at work!

Kure is a historic town dying a slow death.

It's a shame but without jobs people are bound to leave.Nearby, Hiroshima offers many more opportunities

Because everything in Japan is losing . Ship building, automobiles and house building were losing momentum, why need so much steel production.By the way, japanese young people don't want to work in this industry making it very difficult to get steel workers as well.
