frankly, automake is not good business any more. every country can make automobiles and it is only quite common-tech product like shoe or cloth today~ so sell your stocks of automaker company ASAP if you got some!

Sorry the auto business is a great business but the auto companies have price their products on an inflationary scale which mean that in a contraction period cars become to expensive that is why we see the rise of the second hand car business in japan where as 20 year most japanese families would have bought a second hand car.

This is a great time to finally buy a car if you have not already! I wish I had waited a little longer now that all the car companies are so desparate for new customers! Oh well!

Nissan's spending millions to re-tool its plant in Mississippi to switch from producing pick-up trucks to lighter commercial vehicles.

I really don't understand Nissan's strategy___ lay off labors and close production lines here and spend fortune to construct new plants there where GM and Ford are in danger right now.

GM and Ford's business structure is much different than Nissan's whereby Nissan is better placed to make a profit from production in the US as opposed to GM and Ford. It's called legacy costs.

GM and Ford are in danger right now because of poor planning, poor management and the UAW.

Sarge, the Mississippi plant will be producing the Prius.

Nissan's gonna be producing the Toyota Prius?

no they won't. i'm assuming it's the toyota Mississippi plant JohnBecker-sama is talking about. People aren't buying cars in the US because they just can't get a line of credit any more. new graduates coming in to the market just can't get a loan right now because none of them has credit score of 750 or better. seriously, who does?

I just heard that a big company here in Aichi is going to cut all the foreigners temporary workers, they work only until december 31. That means that Toyota supliers are shrinking the workforce to the bare minimun. Keep just the echelon that they cant throw out the window. Time for pack and move out for the people that still can do it. These is going to be a hellish winter.
