This scumbag should be arrested.

The second-biggest Japanese carmaker by volume has announced a cut of 12,500 jobs over the next three years, departing from Ghosn's expansionist business strategy that the company's current management says focused excessively on numerical goals.

It seems like they are blaming everything that Ghosn did, even if it led to growth. I thought every business was striving for growth, higher sales and profits.

The 12,500 job cuts are all abroad so what is the fuss.

Absolutely scandalous how this dirty little two faced back stabber isn't also being thrown into custody. UNBELIEVABLE! He deserves to have his entire life wrecked just like they did Ghosn.

"He is packing it in and packing it up

And sneaking away and buggering up*

And chickening out and ***** off home,*

Yes, bravely he is throwing in the sponge..."*

Saikawa probably smiled as he left the building knowing that Ghosn was arrested, perp-walked, the whole nine yards for basically the same offense.

Bloomberg summarized it best.

Similar crimes...very different outcomes. Ultimately, readers should be the judge.

Seems like the price is starting to be paid for trying to get rid of Ghosen fraudulently.

They wanted him lit, but it looks like other high ranking people are going as well.

Or is he leaving because he knows what’s coming is worse?

If the prosecutor had any integrity at all, he/she would either/or charge Saikawa, drop all charges against Ghosn.

The fact that Ghosn cannot even meet his wife is just out there. Unbelievable.

Which countries have endorsed this kind of treatment of white collar suspects?

Now, when it appears that Saikawa may have erred on the wrong side of the law, the Japanese "wide-shows" choose not to take issue with the situation.

Well, let me tell you...I take issue with it.

It is clearly not fair. Let Saikawa spend hours and hours of his face and family be sprayed across the airwaves as a suspect to a crime.

So what is happening to Mr SqueakyClean?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Is it just me or did Saikawa get a pass for a similar crime on the wide-shows. It was 24/7 for Ghosn.

It a sign of the times, if you're a Foreigner then you get the highly public blame, but if you're Japanese, you'll be okay.

Sadly it has always been like this for as long as I can remember. Japanese law has always been a scam, and racist. But at least now everybody knows it.

The question now is, what are Japan going to do about it?

If I hear the reply "This is Japan", my only thought would be "Yes, this is Japan. Oh dear Japan".

Revive profitability?

Not with my money!

I have millions of yen to buy a car in Japan this year.

I won’t be buying a Nissan though...

Where are all the posters that got out their pitchfolks and lynching rope when the topic was about Ghosn? Just about all of them were praising Saikawa for all his hard work and great deeds in kicking him out the door.

Hypocrites the bunch!

Saikawa deserves at least a few months in detention, if just to check out his story! Then publicly perp-walked, to the courthouse to face a judge!

Guys, let's interview the new Tokyo Prosecutor already. I am waiting to see how he will spin this one.

My yen won’t go to a company that has helped place a former successful CEO in detention for months, restricting access to family etc.

The regular workers at Nissan no doubt are very good people, and will be feeling very anxious these days.

However, the higher- ups still seem to be working very closely with the Tokyo Prosecution to make it as hard as possible for Ghosn's legal team to prepare for trial. One of his lawyers, Takano Takashi, has filed an appeal to be able to get copies of some of the data originally passed to the prosecution by Nissan. Although the defense is legally entitled to view/copy such data, the prosecutors are making it difficult and Nissan is embarking on deleting 6000 items ostensibly to 'protect employee privacy'...but 'destruction of evidence' springs to mind.

NISSAN MUST UNDERSTAND that this is only a fast fix situation. The only way to manage correctly is to set up a team of people, who are future orientated and not take sides or favour anyone but the interests of correctness & honesty , the very fundamentals of management and human lives If Nissan want the Japanese public & international community to respect Japanese business people. Truth always comes out in time.

Profitability does not lie, it tells the truth abt , just another year of profitability is just nonsense. Pls Try to make profits in the same years as Carlos Ghosn ???. From bankrutcy to profitability. Try make sense to even yrselves Nissan!!!. Changing of a c.e.o ???.Good operations need good honest people with integrity, morals & real hard work. Another cheap talking C.E.O at nissan is real suicide for all employees , share holders, suppliers and the total works of nissan. Pls think wisely.
