Back in 2005 a Renault Avantime suffered a "software error" that left it careening down the motorway at 130mph with an immovable gear lever, and they want MORE of this crap? Japan ought to show some of that good old common sense few other first-world nations are gifted with, and demand all new cars have mechanical connections to the controls, which a computer can assist, but never override. And a clearly accessible "off switch" which instantly converts the car's controls to something out of 1950.

I only want to buy car with Air Conditioner, CD / Cassette player with good speakers and Power Steering but nothing else. I don't want stuff like internet streaming line, radar system and wireless communication system in car. Consumers are forced to buy car with unwanted technology in the car. Car wasn’t living room and it shouldn’t treat like living room. I’ll wait for US consumers group class against Car Companies for forcing car buyers to buy car with unwanted accessories and technology in the car they bought like lawsuit for pre-installed unwanted OS and software in Laptop in the past. Car buyers shouldn’t be forced to pay for unwanted technology in car they bought. The car price will be lower than today what car buyers are paying for if the car wasn’t coming with buyer unwanted technology stuffs in the car.
