That seems extraordinary for MUFG. I'm a long-suffering customer of that brutal Kafkaesque institution and they have always been absolutely obsessed by paperwork, stacks and stack of it. They made me write out my name and address with a ballpoint pens 14 times to set up my NISA account, taking 4 hours, and then phoned me in a week later to say one stroke from the "Shinjuku" kanji character was missing and I had come back to their office (which closes at 3 p.m., of course) to correct and then sign every single instance. That is only one case of a very long list.
Going from that to mortgages on a phone? This I gotta see.
