OpenX, a global leader in creating programmatic advertising marketplaces, has announced the opening of a new office and an expanded presence in Japan. The company recently moved to larger office space and added account management, sales engineering, technical implementation, technical support and yield management resources to support its rapidly expanding publisher customer base.

Jason Fairchild, co-founder and chief revenue officer of OpenX, said, “We recognize the great potential for programmatic growth, and want to bring our extensive experience delivering superior monetization for publishers to Japan and the APAC region. OpenX technology and products like header bidding are profoundly transformational for our clients, with products like OpenX Bidder outperforming other header bidding solutions in head to head comparison. We look forward to continuing to build our business in Japan by remaining focused on the fundamentals -- robust competition, extreme quality controls, and staying aligned with our publisher clients.”

According to the Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2016-2020 published by PricewaterhouseCoopers, strong demand for programmatic technology from premium publishers will help push Japan’s media market to $170 billion by 2020, from its current $154 billion.

Kenta Umezu joined OpenX Japan as the director, partner services based in Tokyo. With over 18 years of experience in the Internet business, Kenta most recently successfully managed large-scale global projects among cross-functional teams at AOL Platforms, and led the global launch of the Microsoft Advertising Exchange (MAX) in the Japan market at Microsoft.  Kenta deeply understands U.S. and Japanese online marketing trends and technology, as well as advertiser campaign management and optimization.

It's just a program used to buy digital advertising. Machines talking to machines about ones and zeros.
