Boycott threats immediately followed, fueled by conservative commentators such as Matt Walsh, who has 1.9 million Twitter followers

The conservative griftosphere may be demonetized on some platforms but they have wealthy corporate backers who want the political focus to be culture wars, so it makes it lucrative to amplify the conservative talking points on social networks.

Look for the heat of the rhetoric to rise before next year's election.

but they have wealthy corporate backers who want the political focus to be culture wars,

They’re called the American consumer.

so it makes it lucrative to amplify the conservative talking points on social networks.

They don’t have to, we can see it for ourselves. The GOP doesn’t have to do anything just sit back and watch the buyers close their wallets.

Target’s stock has lost a whopping $13.8 billion over the past two weeks, hitting its lowest levels in nearly three years as the “cheap chic” discount retailer continues to face backlash over LGBTQ-friendly kids clothing.

No. they would have barely noticed that the female MM candy clothes became unisex, a restaurant includes language about inclusiveness and diversity, or a comic book character changes race or gender.

Unless a corporate funded outrage factory of grifter influencers was not in place to amplify culture wars.

No.

Yes.

Sorry, a lot of consumers were talking about it on Twitter for awhile now and even conservatives use social media to your surprise. Lol

No, the American consumer is wise enough.

you don't support LGBTQ+ from your comments or Pride month or businesses that choose to do so.

What is your problem with those?

Trump has dismissed "woke".

Target has long marketed to the LGBTQ+ community. But it recently found itself at the center of the bullseye when protesters tipped over Pride displays and threatened staff in some stores.

Sounds like paid agitators , not 'consumers'.

First can anyone tell us what the actual community is now called LGBTQIA+, LGBTQ, 2LGBTQA+ or, or or ...

All these corporations are just virtue signaling, the proof was the Bud light fiasco.

If it was really to be "inclusive" they would have chosen a better way and person.

Any quick look at Dylan Mulvaney and his followers would have made them realize it was a bad idea.

In the USA the legal drinking age is 21, Japan it is 20, in most other places it is 18.

But Mulvaney's core followers ( those that regularly follow) are between the ages of 13 and 20 al large portion under the drinking age in most countries but especially the target country of the USA.

So it was a virtue signaling campaign or worse a campaign to attract under aged drinkers.

The fact it is illegal to do the later we can only come to the conclusion it was all virtue signaling.

All that is going on is now so out of had that many are turning away from the long acronym group.

The LGB alliance is growing fast

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGB_Alliance

It is growing and expanding to more countries.

One main focus is children, targetted to persuade them they are Transgender when in fact as research has shown they are more likely homosexual.

No other group has as much crazy exposure.

Where is Disabled month? Where are the special clothing section for the disabled? Etc ..

0 ( +6 / -6 )

The Christain group Chick-fil-A now supports diversity.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

And more proof of virtue signaling is that had Target done even the most basic check of the designer Erik Carnell just a look at his website, a fool could see the storm coming.

His "Satan respects Pronouns" and the rest was going to cause even more trouble once discovered.

But in the rush to virtue signal they picked any LGBTQIA++++2+++ designer.

Yes I know the strange reasoning behind Erik Carnell" Satan designs but seriously what a poor choice by target especially in the USA.

This recent strategy from conservatives of equating education with 'grooming' is reprehensible considering religious education has filled children's heads with dangerous hokum since time immemorial.

Religious education should begin over 16 years old.

Anyway, is so funny to see how the MAGA gang get triggered and how the "world's first democracy" keeps sinking into its own division..

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Here is the problem!

It isn't the places that have pride events .

It is those that don't because any place that doesn't and says nothing pro or against the LGBTQIA++2++ meaning stays neutral and doesn't have a pride flag or changes its website to rainbow in June will be targeted by the group for not following orders.

Companies that previously did change and put rainbow but this year didn't deciding to not modify their business site are now being targeted.

Rainbowwashing was the term coined and any large corporations not putting a rainbow logo is being targeted.

So it seems both sides are exactly the same.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I would like to think that Americans are, by and large, very open, friendly and inclusive. I really think the problem started not with transgender women living their life as women but the drag queens reading to children in schools and trying to jump on the transgender bandwagon. The term Drag queen and transgender women are often confused… drag queens are men who live their normal life as men, identify as men and dress up as woman in extravagant costumes and makeup as a hobby. Transgender women live and identify as women. Period. I have no problem with a transgender woman teaching or reading to my child in school. I would have a problem with a man in drag reading to my child though.

Actually the LGB alliance is saying something similar.

This group started by 2 lesbians as grown rapidly since 2019 from grassroots, the founder are elderly women pioneers of the LGB rights way way back when in the UK it was still a crime.

They say the rest of the "gender pronoun" group have hijacked the movement, are hurting young lesbians and have pushed back LGB rights and advancements.

They are correct, same sex marriage was finally becoming nothing controversial, the public at large was finally getting used to and accepting LGB.

Then we started having trouble, 10 million genders, men competing as women, no one can define or dares try and say what a woman is, biological men undressing in women's changing rooms, drag queen story time with men dressing up as a caricature of a woman to read too preschool children, etc...

People like myself that long supported the LGB have now turned away from the LGBTQIA++2++ as it because farcical as each month a new letter or number is added.

I still support LGB and I am looking at Helping the LGB alliance as they expand to more countries but the rest no, it has gotten out of hand and alienating far too many LGB and lowering support by the non LGBTQIA++2++.

Labels like CIS woman have pushed many to ask "what is going on?"

Not, in the same way, the retail stores are doing. I don't eat or wear computers on a daily basis.

Not hate, just don't think pushing the issue and grooming kids to accept it when half of the time they are learning about themselves, let them understand first that there are only 2 sexes and once that has been established they can move on to the other oddities out there.

Because Tim Cooke is a member of the LGBTQ community there is always big support for it including a rainbow Apple Watch strap.

Apple supports and brings awareness to LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations that are working to bring about positive change, including Equality Federation Institute, an advocacy accelerator that is building a network of state-based LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations in the U.S., and GLSEN, an education.

Where is the "grooming of kids"?

Like I suspect you do not support the GAY community.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I don’t get why people can’t mind their own business. Like I get it, we’re all bored at times, but why butt into other issues because of that. These stores are businesses and sell stuff to make money. There is no moral or brain washing element. They just want your money no matter what politics you side with or religious elements etc.

injecting your life into a soulless corporation who just wants your $9.99 for a shirt is all kinds of dumb.

I never implied nor stated that I didn't.

You do not support LGBTQ+?

350 years ago this might have been phrased “You do not support the burning of witches?”

Toleration has not been sufficient and support has come to mean approval since the advent of strident activists (self-appointed leaders) on the street and in corporate DEI offices.

And people are surprised there is pushback? Corporations will start backtracking.

Don[t take them to pantomime then. It will blow your mind. Men in drag, sexy women dressed as young boys. It's utterly scandalous.

Strange I have been to plenty of pantomime shows and I don't remember any of them as you described! Where are you going?

But here is the difference, these drag queen story time things are now no longer voluntary, public schools are bring this into the school and refusing to send your child to school on those days can be very costly with social services, Child protection and laws in some countries making doing so an offence leading to fines,

I have a family member in Canada actually in a legal situation for doing just that refusing to send their children to drag queen story time in public school.

It is things like this that are turning past supporters of the LGB away from the LGBTQIA++2(++.

It is things like this that have made LGB people create the LGB Alliance in the UK and branches now opening in other countries.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I have been to plenty of pantomime shows and I don't remember any of them as you described!

Then you haven't been to a pantomime. Cinderellas ugly sisters were always men in drag, usually semi-popular comedians and Prince Charming /Jack (Jack & the Beanstalk) was always a girl talent (singer/glamour model etc.)

Apple the largest company in the world supports the LGBTQ community every month and there are no protests from the conservatives. No boycott of their products.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

CSR/SDGs and Marketing/Promotion/Advertising can be two different operations with little or no crossover. A corporation can support LGBT orgs through donations and volunteering. It doesn't have to include their stance in direct product marketing, promotion, and advertising. Most people are unaware that some corporations support LGBT rights. It's when this support is specifically tied to product advertising, etc., is when some feel it's intrusive and being force fed.

If you really want to see who are not in favour of all this LGBTQIA+2+5+++++.

Check these out.

https://lgballiance.org.uk/about/

And

https://www.lgballiance.ca/

Here is what they have to say.

The rights and dignities of same-sex attracted people are under threat in a way that hasn’t been seen in Canada for decades. Our mission is to protect the rights of same-sex attracted people by engaging in respectful dialogue and sharing science- and fact- based information.

All around the world, people are taking notice that over the past decade, radical and unscientific ideas about human sexuality, sex, and gender have been seeping into the mainstream without proper examination. LGB and trans people are becoming alarmed at what’s taking place, and we’re mobilizing to restore reasonable, fact-based discussion and open dialogue. Politicians and the media are increasingly spotlighting this issue.

Note the parts science and unscientific!

These fat radicals the once pushing the agenda on children are NOT, the LGB,

The LGB are for letting children be children, letting them grow up and make a fully informed decision once they are adults.

Not remove their choice by pushing the TQIA++2++5+6+7+++with unscientific gender silliness of 70+ genders.

The unscientific "a woman is who ever identifies as a woman but we cannot tell you what a woman is"

You believe in LGB rights then support them and not the mumbo-jumbo of 70 plus genders soon they will be adding furries.

I watched an interview of and LGBTQIA+++2+++xz .

The woman was trying to talk about a member said "she" then stopped mid sentence " I think (person' name) uses "they/them" then used they or them but then "she " correcting herself, "they " then "her" them "they" again etc..as the conversation went on this representative of the LGBTQIA+++2+++ kept getting more confused mixing up the person they were talking about's pronouns, that is how silly it has gotten, even those pushing the agenda are confused

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Pride does not lead to a fully flourishing life. Any lifestyle that puts a sexual political agenda ahead of the health—mind, body, and soul—of any person should not be promoted by companies.

True self-love means caring and loving yourself more than companies loving themselves loving a multi-colored flag.
