And the accuracy of the "official" tests have been in question since day one seeing as they are made in Red China.

Because Japan government is trying to ensure full 100% government control over coronavirus testing so they can suppress the reported numbers. Japan is the only developed country where government bureaucrats decides who gets tested instead of doctors.

"PCR tests for the coronavirus are limited to those who have symptoms such as a fever of 37.5 C or higher for at least four days. "

That only makes you a candidate to be considered for testing, and it goes well beyond that. You also need a pneumonia requiring hospitalization. Just getting connected to the local health office is pretty much impossible, and you are almost guaranteed to be rejected. People are literally dying in their homes and the governments is acting to restrict access and reporting of cases more and more. The government want to test as few people as possible, and they don't care of people die in their homes as long as they can keep the reported numbers low.

Guess Rakuten,s connections are not as strong as the vested interests connected to the ' official test kit manufacturers, besides with self test kits government would loose control over the numbers being reported...and that would be , ya know...' very regrettable'.

Not only for diagnostic tests, but also vaccines.

Japanese vaccines are also all made by amakudari companies. The corruption in the health sector is so severe here that there's really no hope of Japan people receiving any proper diagnosis, treatment, or vaccine for this crisis. You can expect the same vaccine quality in 2 years as the Abe masks while costing taxpayers 10x the amount, half of it probably finding it way to the politicians pockets one way or another.

Q? who is making these kits?

Are they the same faulty kits that were used in Germany and the United states but under a different name?

If it is the same Chinese kit!!? Forget it, You are wasting your money.

Another way of suppressing the number of infected on record. At least if people could do this and know that they were infected then they would have stayed in isolation and not infected others. Now back to the original way of being infected, not getting tested due to the extreme guidelines of having a fever for four days and longer and this only makes you a candidate for consideration. Then not knowing that you are infected you go out and infect others. Way to go Japan!!!

Shut down Rakuten already! They sell elephant tusk products when the ivory trade is illegal, they engage in all sorts of other amoral behaviour and illegalities, and yet every time they just pull things off the shelves, so to speak, after being berated or caught selling it. Then it's forgotten.
