When Nissan was on the brink of bankruptcy, Renault pumped money into the ailing Japanese automaker and sent over Ghosn who turned around Nissan by closing plants and sacking workers. Now the French automaker seems to be wanting to get out of the troubled alliance. Quite irrelevant to the article. but what’s Ghosn up to in Lebanon these days?

I guess, they just only quickly need the stake money, telling everyone a camouflaged description like ‘rebalancing the alliance’. Rebalancing our red number bank books probably describes it more realistic. Or in ‘best case’, they just need some money to jump that EV illusion train in time. Any healthy company would raise stakes in other enterprises, regardless of those being rival, in companionship or even in other branches, just only raising stakes, to become even bigger and richer. So withdrawal of stakes, that’s telling the story behind.

I still will never buy Nissan Products. Partly out of Principle, but also, that there's nothing of interest in what they have to offer these days. So, one could look at the reduction of involvement from Renault, as a recognition that Nissan, is a dead beat, and will likely decline further - so why waste your Capital investment there, when it ca be put to better use elsewhere.

So one of them give up their stake in the alliance, even they have their country law backing them up. However that means nothing now.

The Oyaji’s in Nissan are more concerned about taking orders from Renault rather than making cars.
