Renault to reduce stake in Nissan, rebalancing alliance

Interestingly, most local Japanese media outlets gave the headline which reads "Nissan to raise stake."

What's become of Carlos Ghosn?

20 plus years after the 'Alliance' started, their respective IT systems still can't work together; stock control, ordering, vendor management is a mess.

And what of Mitsubishi - the third partner?

The rich help the rich.

When Nissan was on the brink of bankruptcy, Renault pumped money into the ailing Japanese automaker and sent over Ghosn who turned around Nissan by closing plants and sacking workers. Now the French automaker seems to be wanting to get out of the troubled alliance. Quite irrelevant to the article. but what’s Ghosn up to in Lebanon these days?

The rich help the rich.

Yup, that is the French government.

I guess, they just only quickly need the stake money, telling everyone a camouflaged description like ‘rebalancing the alliance’. Rebalancing our red number bank books probably describes it more realistic. Or in ‘best case’, they just need some money to jump that EV illusion train in time. Any healthy company would raise stakes in other enterprises, regardless of those being rival, in companionship or even in other branches, just only raising stakes, to become even bigger and richer. So withdrawal of stakes, that’s telling the story behind.

Have you noticed the increasing number of Renaults in Japan over the past five years?

Even here in the Ryukyu Islands, there's quite a few,and loads on Kyushu. Are they able to be serviced at Nissan dealerships?

Didn't go fast enough. A divorce is urgently needed. They don't trust each other anymore.

Renault should sell the rest of their stakes to Geely.

Were some other French managers on job assignment at Nissan suppressed or threatened by Japanese state attorney, or what is the reason?

I still will never buy Nissan Products. Partly out of Principle, but also, that there's nothing of interest in what they have to offer these days. So, one could look at the reduction of involvement from Renault, as a recognition that Nissan, is a dead beat, and will likely decline further - so why waste your Capital investment there, when it ca be put to better use elsewhere.

deal rebalancing the rocky alliance between the two companies

So one of them give up their stake in the alliance, even they have their country law backing them up. However that means nothing now.

The Oyaji’s in Nissan are more concerned about taking orders from Renault rather than making cars.

They realize they don’t really want to do real work and would love to just grind teeth and suck air.

Nissan will go down and will take Renault with it. Nissan is an albatross around Renault's neck.

yeah right, then why does not Renault dump Nissan? Everyone knows Renault is nothing without Nissan.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

both Nissan and Renault are dead brands-at least in Japan.things of past.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Renault is right and should stop everything, nissan is just going to die as predicted by Ghosn.

-7 ( +8 / -15 )

Nissan will go down and will take Renault with it. Nissan is an albatross around Renault's neck.

-8 ( +11 / -19 )

yeah right, then why does not Renault dump Nissan?

Because they have been tied up for decades and anyone who knows anything about running a business understands that its not that simple.

Everyone knows Renault is nothing without Nissan.

Everyone knows Nissan is nothing. Period.
