The Chinese government has since April 2018 maneuvered to reduce the value of the Chinese currency, RMB, by approximately 9.5%, from around USD1: RMB6.3 to USD1: RMB6.9, which pretty much off-set the 10% tariff, meaning US importers do not have to increase their retail prices by as much as 10%.
