I understand what Kobe Steel did was wrong and indefensible, but I wonder why the piling on by the media. I don't remember this many stories about Takata when the airbag scandal hit. There were a lot of stories but mostly about how the airbags were killing people and how they were being sued in court. Nissan and Subaru have gotten off pretty easily for their scandals.

Does it have anything to do with Abe having worked there as the article states, and people making the connection with the two? Just wondering.

Kobe Steel will survive as it is linked to major manufacturers.

Japanese business like to do business with each other and I have it on some pretty reliable advice that domestic companies are not seeking compensation for possible product deficiencies but foreign companies are.
