All it takes is imminent bankruptcy for a japanese company to acknowledge their mistakes. When Sony and Nintendo are close to going under, maybe then they'll listen to their shareholders for once.

I agree ryuusei. Its really sad but true.
I think thats partly due to the prevailing work culture in Japan. Inability to adapt, Inability to take quick decisions, serious lack of leadership skills.
The best brains in business have already left Japan long ago. Many economists have forecasted in their thesis that unless and until Japan brings about structural changes in the society it cannot sustain the global competition.

The most important Japanese are arrogant. They are living in the past and still think that their technology is the best and the world is craving for Made in Japan products.

Sharp denied the news reports but the Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan’s top-selling daily, said the planned cuts are expected to target the solar power business and management positions at headquarters.
If this is true then i guess they are planning to cut out all the dead wood over paid bring nothing to the table fat cats. Also the move to Sakai sounds logical and the term streamlining positive, as a share holder (brought at the end of last year) i am optimistic.
