A Sony spokesperson said the company does not comment about its customers but its basic policies include respect for human rights.

Like many large multinationals they never comment about human rights issues because they over look them when it comes in conflict with their bottom line!

Seems to me that Japanese companies are not alone in turning a blind eye when it comes to making money!

"Japanese companies' awareness of human rights lags 20 years behind U.S. and European companies," he said.

Awareness of human rights and...

Japanese companies' awareness of the modern workplace, labor laws, technological advancements, is about 20 years behind not just U.S. and European, but ASEAN countries as well

@CruisinJapanToday  I suggest you look at the detention camps in America, as they are doing same thing as the Chinese are. "20 years behind us" ... get off your high horse and have a look at yourself in a mirror, will you?

No matter what the Americans do, the world would rather trust them than the communist PRC. As for American detention camps, do they rape girl nuns and harvest human organs and do forced sterilization of women like what china is doing to Tibetans, Urgur and Falungong members?

The world isn't a two-party system like America. Much of the world is becoming increasingly more careful about both America and China.

Or, they are just taking a page out of the United States history book of their intentional genocide and mistreatment of Native Americans and Africans not to mention the influence of European colonialism.

The US has a history of murdering indigenous, raping people, placing them in concentration camps and sterilizing populations, too!

And they happened all on US soil!

The PRC despite its shortcomings have always been a good student of history.
