It is an announcement for Nissan and Mitsubishi to cut ties with Renault. Renault is "seeking" other revenues now that they know they cannot (with Japanese government involvement) or too risky to continue with Nissan.

It is also an interesting aspect of how business is conducted by the world. May be not a "double-cross" but definitely a change in loyalty and preference.

Why would any company wants to join hands with Nissan beats me ???.Nissan has the worst Japanese president, saikawa.

Smart move from Renault. Now Renault-FCA is bigger than Nissan in revenue and sales so Nissan's argument of an imbalance in the alliance doesn't hold anymore.

Renault is basically telling Nissan, if you don't want us, we have other options.

Also very importantly, messing with Renault-FCA would now means messing with the US&Europe and not just with Europe so Japan Inc should think twice about it now.
