While speed and efficiency are desirable to some . . . please also make sure cups, equipment, and dining areas are well sanitized . . . .

That is until they are kicked out of China. Time is almost up for Starbucks, McDonald's, KFC, Microsoft etc. Retaliation for the Americans banning so many Chinese companies. Watch this space.

What is the relevance to Starbucks sales in China?

While the Starbucks stores over here are doing well, overall, I have noticed that the stores closest in location to a very popular family owned coffee chain are doing poorly, to the extent that they are almost ghost towns. I would recommend to Starbucks that they examine why the coffee products from the independent stores are so much superior, but there does not seem to be any way to communicate with Starbucks management.
I know whereof I speak. I gladly went to Starbucks for more than 30 years, until a far superior competitor arrived in town. Today I hardly ever go to Starbucks, although I still think they have good employees. I tried to communicate with Starbucks management, with no success.

What struck me about Starbucks outlets in China was they didn't even have fresh hot coffee ready to serve They had hot water and lots of different teas, plus all kinds of coffee drinks but no fresh coffee. If one wanted a fresh cup of coffee they had to make an "Americano".

I wish KFCs in the US would sell some of the goodies they sell in their stores in China. No, seriously.
