I'll have a Vodka Frappuccino.

Grande, please.

Couldn't be any worse than Starbucks.

These companies can copy the logos, but they can't copy the experience and supply lines of the big companies that have exited Russia. I'm sure the Russian people must be thankful to Putin for killing Ukranians so that the Russian people can be quarantined from the benefits of humanity. I mean, that's something they would be thankful for, right?

No big loss. Starbucks is overrated, overpriced, and overhyped. It's more of a sweets shop than a cafe anyway.

If the laws don't apply to you, might as well take advantage. And common, is it a surprise? It's just coffee.

Don't think Starbucks will be suing Stars in a hurry, and the Russians know this. There is something called "sanctions* you know. Lol

Good on them for taking the piss out of the American companies for leaving Russia in the first place. Leave, and then all of a sudden feel all hard done by when your brand is copied? Likewise, other brands.

Cry me a river.

“ Sad Russians. Can't come up with anything original, they have to copy intellectual property, ideas and logos. “

( O_O )

what are you talking about? ( O_O ) it’s coffee. just coffee. just food. you talking about names? (can’t take a little joke?) hard to find someone with a sense of humor nowadays.

trust me, I don’t like Russia, but this? Russians also need to eat, you know? jeez y’all need to chill.

Sad Russians.

Can't come up with anything original, they have to copy intellectual property, ideas and logos.

Basically admitting that the US culture is where they desperately want to be. Sadly - they - and their shoddy knock-offs - will always just be Russian.

Probably tastes like Cow Piss!

yeah just like starbucks frap

Copycat, or not, aside, I wouldn’t mind. Re Starbucks, I have stopped buying them since 2016. Real espresso at roadside cafes in Europe is real and tasty and not overpriced, not like at Starbucks

Starbucks’s cappuccino is awesome. Much better than the Dolce that I make at home. Workers at Starbucks are always cute and friendly.

This blatant ripoff cannot be tolerated

lmao … already started to get downvoted…; again, I don’t think this should be criticized.

“ People in Moscow who were disappointed when Starbucks closed its coffee shops after Russia sent troops into Ukraine may now feel a caffeine jolt of hope: A nearly identical operation is opening in the capital.

The departurewas a psychological blow to Russians who had become used to the comforts of Western-style consumer culture. “

well, people need their coffee, right? ;people shouldn’t be negative about this ;yes, Russia sucks, but millions of Russians didn’t ask to be born in Russia, in other words, they have nothing to do with Putin’s s***.

I nobody outside Russia can do anything about this!

and nobody in Russia can do anything about Finland and Sweden joining NATO.

thanks Putin lol

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

It’s looks like putting lipstick on a pig.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Excellent!!..

Russia opening its own brands..

Who needs the same boring colonialists brands??..

Live in Russia, buy Russian!!..

-7 ( +8 / -15 )

LOL. 2nd rate Russia now downgraded to 3rd rate. PS Get out of Free Ukraine.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

So, when is McDowells coming to Russia? Tsars Coffee sounds better.

I nobody outside Russia can do anything about this!

I think this is great. I'd want to go to this much more than the real one.

For people who've not read or seen a movie version of Moby Dick, Starbuck is the character who is wise enough to know what action is necessary to avoid disaster, but is too weak to take it. His name now lives on as a dispenser of single-use plastic cups.

Russia is taking a page out of the CCP bible. The chapter on Intellectual Property and Trademarks.

This war is not good but Russia will do well by developing its own brands. Russia has a GDP PPP on par with Germany and more upside as the EU slowly commits economic suicide by driving up its own costs of energy and food.

Shouldn’t this be under r/crappyoffbrands?

it’s just another post in the subreddit.

Vkusno

if you say this out loud, it sounds like a swear phrase

If it’s anything like the fake McDonald’s, which was serving up mouldy buns & rotten meat.

Makes a change from reconstituted meat and chemical riddled buns at the real one.

i see no problem at all.udachi rebiata.

A great idea. I went to a "Star Backs" in Bangkok that was two doors down from the real thing. Cheaper with better coffee. I hope this is the same.

If it’s anything like the fake McDonald’s, which was serving up mouldy buns & rotten meat - no thanks

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

Star wars would be more appropriate...but I guess that's taken.

A nice Putin Peach frappucino anyone ?
