Every long term resident should have a NISA account. I have been investing in Japan stocks for about 25 years mostly to my detriment. The current situation is the best I have seen for investing in stocks. Start small but the outlook is rather positive in my opinion.

The performance of US tech stocks like Nvidia is even more impressive in yen terms. My advice is to take some profits and live it up a little -- Japan won't always be this cheap.

Precisely due to cheaper yen (which is good for Japanese business), stocks are up.
