In the USA it was called NAFTA, and Perot asked, "What is that giant sucking noise." The answer was jobs. Good-bye to jobs in Japan and hello to lower prices for cycles. The USA already tried this type of trade agreement, and now it is 14 trillion dollars in debt. Either the Japanese will tolerate higher prices or say "No, thank you." to Suzuki when it comes time to buy a cycle.

A sad state of affairs to see more and more leave the country. At least they didn't blame it on the March disaster.

Either the Japanese will tolerate higher prices or say "No, thank you." to Suzuki when it comes time to buy a cycle.

Read again, it says "Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, its subsidiary for motorcycle production and sales and automobile sales in Philippines". "In order to meet increasing market demands for motorcycles market in Philippines".

Don't think Japanese will go to the Phillippines to buy a motorcyle.

In the Philippines, the motorcycle model that is so popular with the masses is the 125-cc or the 155-cc models. These models are not popular in Japan.

In the rural areas, these motorcycles are the lifeblood of the masses. They convert this into an orbiting-satellite like vehicle. Please see the link below.

The CBR250r is assembled in Thailand and at $4000 is one of the more popular bikes this year. Some of the components and many of the machines to make the parts come from Japan. Ninja 250r has been very popular and is also not made in Japan.

It is a price balance and will always be. I like the idea of making a motorcycle in the Philippines because these people can really use the jobs.
