Suzuki Motor Corp has unveiled the Ignis compact crossover.

For the vehicle, the company employed a new platform designed for the A-segment. The platform is also used for the Solio compact car. The fuel efficiency of the Ignis is 28.8km/L.

While the Solio is sold only in Japan, Suzuki plans to release the Ignis not only in Japan but in other countries, starting from Europe, as a compact crossover of a new genre created in Japan.

All the models of the Ignis are mild hybrid vehicles (HEVs). As in the case of the HEV model of the Solio, the driving force of the Ignis' engine is strengthened by Mitsubishi Electric Corp's ISG (integrated starter generator).

For the Ignis, a collision avoidance system using a stereo camera is available as an option. When it detects a preceding vehicle or pedestrian, it activates the brakes by using an ESC (electronic stability control) system.

The Ignis will be released Feb 18, with prices starting from ¥1,382,400.

That's kind of nice actually. I was a fan of the Hustler but being a FD is the reason I didn't buy one.
