The thing is, the Japanese electric cars costs more than 3 times of their Chinese counterparts, which is making the domestic Japanese electric car industry very unattractive and uninteresting.

Since the electric car manufacturing and logistics are very high subsidiezed by the Chinese government, there is almost zero chance that the Japanese electric cars to be able to compete with the Chinese made ones, not unless there is a big government investment in Japan too.
